Caroline Hallat, SCA is originally from South Africa. After pursuing Graphic Design and Fine Arts at The Westminster University in England she moved to Vancouver where she spent many years, after which she moved to beautiful Kelowna.
Caroline is inspired by her surroundings, she loves warm color palettes often associated with Africa - burnt sienna’s, warm burnt umbers, oranges and alizarin crimson. Working on canvas and in 3 dimension, Caroline strives to capture the lines and flow of the human figure. She loves how gesture depicts the inner strength and beauty sustained during everyday passions and struggles.
She has worked hard to learn from the greatest visual storytellers - Rubens, Titian, Rembrandt, Caravaggio and so many other great painters. Her techniques have been adopted from Renaissance Masters. She feels their oil painting methods have stood the test of time and yield beautiful results.
Always open to new concepts, she continues to explore various aspects of painting, experimenting with composition, colour, design, acrylics and multimedia..
She is an avid global traveller and each of her amazing experiences finds expression in her work. Her works hang in a host of private collections around the world including South Africa, Canada, UK and the USA. She was commissioned to design Spring banners and anti-graffiti utility boxes for the City of Vancouver.
